We reach the area of the house damaged by fire.
The floor is unstable, we progress very carefully.
It’s raining outside, water streams down through the roof to the areas below.
We can’t progress much further by this route.
We retrace our steps.
The stable block outside is in very poor condition.
Fallen pillars reveal there hollow interior
The back boiler has fallen out of the fireplace.
A huge hole in the roof has been burnt through from a fire in the room above.
There is a mattress lying on the floor.
Maybe some lucky squatters had taken residence in this amazing building?
