Looking Back
In 1972, the Irish Georgian Society acquired the ruin of Tyrone.
Galway County Council attempted to purchase the building from the owner on behalf of the national monuments section of the Department of the Environment.
The Government has no longer allocated any funds for the purchase of Tyrone House.
A little saddened and reflective, but happy for what we’ve recorded,
we pack up our cameras and leave Tyrone exactly as we found it
We pause for a last look around..
