Documenting our Heritage

Welcome In.

Dingy Dispensary

The ceiling falls to the floor. The wall covering peels off in large sections.

This structure is derelict and decaying.

Robert

Was Robert the last one out who turned off the lights?

Vacant Ward.

The hospital was used for mental health care, and more recently an intensive care unit.

Conditions inside the hospital were condemned by the inspector of mental hospitals numerous times over the years.

Sitting Shower

We get a gloomy sense of despair.

The photographers are finding the atmosphere intensely troubled.

Dining room

Much of the buildings interior is too dark to photograph.

We use high ISO and some torch light to illuminate a fallen sign.

Exit

There are three staircases in the four storey building, one at each end and one in the centre.

Access is controlled by doors and gates at various points.

St Martin

St Martin lies discarded on the floor amidst a pile of rubble and debris.
