Ammunition Dump
These are the vaults from where over 1 million rounds of ammunition were stolen by the IRA in the Christmas Raid 1939.
Gun Position No.1
We climb the overgrown ladder to access the first gun position.

From the gun position we have a fine view out across the city to the Dublin hills in the distance.

We walk across and climb to the second pillar box gun position.
There’s a fine view out over the Phoenix park games pitches.

We pause for a couple of photographs out from the pillar box gun position, then leave the way we came - we leave no sign of us ever being in the Fort.
