Grand Entrance Hall

The entrance hall was 'so wide that a coach and four could easily be driven through it'

Black Jack's House

The notorious first Lord Clare, Black Jack Fitzgibbon inherited the house from his father in 1780

Following a fall from his horse at Mountshannon in the Christmas of 1801 Lord Clare was badly injured, his condition deteriorated and he died on 28th January 1802.
