My visit to this workhouse was supposed to be a quick stop off between visiting some derelict country houses in the area, however I start wandering around... this place is absolutely vast, consisting of four large courtyards surrounded by long accommodation blocks. I end up spending the entire morning exploring the whole complex.
This is the workhouse kitchen, there’s a cooking pot in each corner and a serving hatch shown in the photograph below.
Now onto the main hall which was used as both the workhouse church and dining room. In more recent years a bakery operated out of this building.
