Woodstock House,
Co. Kilkenny.
Page 1
These steps lead up to the garden front of the house which is actually the back of the house.
The main front entrance round the other side is covered with a huge metal structure which supports the crumbling walls.
The port hole windows to the basement were a design
feature of the house. Quite unusual.
I’ve wanted to visit Woodstock for ages, I’ve just been too busy rushing around all over the rest of Ireland.
Anyways.. I’m here, the sun is out, the gates are open.. so lets go in and take a peek!
The gardens are magnificent, Kilkenny County Council have done a great job here but I really don’t know what the mural in front of the house is about. It’s like somebody is trying to hide the house, strange altogether!
It’s actually a struggle to see the house, I have to peer over the mural which blocks my view!
Ok.. I’ve had enough of the mural in the garden, lets head round to the front entrance.
There’s a huge metal structure towering over me here. I’m carefully not showing you this in my photographs as it’s a bit of a monster! These are the original steps leading to the main doorway and into the grand hallway.
