Piltown House,

Co. Meath.

Documenting our Heritage

Piltown house was built in 1838 for Thomas Brodigan, a Drogheda businessman involved in the building of the Dublin and Drogheda Railway which opened in 1844. The 2 storey over basement, ashlar faced house has a main block of 5 bays with a 1 bay pedimented breakfront and a further 3 bay wing to one side.

Piltown was owned by religious orders in 1960-70s and later sold. The house was empty and derelict for some years until finally destroyed by fire in October 2006.
