Mount Long,
Co. Cork.

The wooden lintels over the windows are showing their age - still just about holding up after nearly four hundred years.
After John Long’s capture by the Cromwellian forces, Mount Long was apparently burnt by his daughter, but there appears to be little evidence of fire in the structural timber work. Mount Long was either extensively repaired by the Busteeds who were granted the Mount Long estate after John Long’s execution or the fire wasn’t severe.
I’ve had a good look round Mount Long.
It’s one amazing place with a fascinating history.
I pack up and head away across the fields - leaving Mount Long just as I found it.
