I've heard a few rumours of these lost mines over the years and always been told that their location is a closely guarded secret.

May 2009 and I'm met by Bella, my mine exploration guide for the day. She's agreed to give me the guided tour providing I don't reveal the location! She produces a blindfold and I'm told to cover my eyes! We start off by car and head up into the mountains...

I sneak a couple of peeks and I think we're passing Laragh and heading into the Vale of Glendasan.

I could be wrong though!
