Lakeview House,
Co. Cork.
Documenting our Heritage
Lakeview House was built by Mr Justice Hallinan (1747 - 1853). Over the following years the house was remodelled and extended.
The property was later the home of the Honourable Sir Eric Hallinan, a judge who was educated at Trinity College, Dublin and who went on to work in the Supreme Court, Trinidad and as Chief Justice of the Windward and Leeward Islands.
The Lakeview site was sold in 2005 for an estimated Euro 19 million and was the subject of a development proposal for 429 residential units consisting of 328 apartments in a single building and 101 houses, two tennis courts, a football pitch and an outdoor games facility.
To this date, the development has not progressed.
