RESTORed ireland
Documenting our Heritage
Castle Oliver,
Co. Limerick.
Before the restoration
These photographs prior to the restoration come from Pat Conroy who visited the castle in 1985 and 1993
Note the missing roof, missing staircase and poor state of the stain-glass window.
These are all now magnificently restored.
Note the missing turret roof - the coned roof sections were all pulled off by the Trenches when falling tiles became dangerous. After their removal rain poured into the structure for years until they were replace in 2007.
