I’ve heard about the Castle Oliver wine cellar

- I head down a spiral staircase to explore.

A book of spells left by the previous castle owner...

Castle Oliver is reputed to have the largest wine cellar in the whole of Ireland - with a capacity of more than 50,000 bottles! I’ve seen quite a few wine cellars in the ruins I’ve explored up and down the country,

it’s great to see one still in really fine condition.

I’ve had a good look round the restored sections of the castle, now I take a peek at some of the original unrestored areas.

Here we see the old kitchen, complete with washroom at the back.

It’s been an amazing experience exploring Castle Oliver.

Declan and Emma's restoration of Castle Oliver is really quite astonishing and between them they've created what must be one of most impressive properties in Ireland.

I highly recommend Castle Oliver as a wedding venue or other special treat!
