A very narrow, dark stairway leads to the top of the tower.

I’ve been really carefully trying not to capture the amazing quantity broken bottles and beer cans around the castle. Unfortunately the litter and graffiti have taken away so much from this amazing place.


I pack up and head back across the fields, leaving Ballincollig Castle just as I found it.

Icicles hang in the frozen walls.
