Ahamlish Church
The Ahamlish cemetery entrance was the site of a Sinn Fein ambush in 1920.
The Black and Tans had shot and killed 70 year old James Connolly from Ballintrillick and there was concern that the Creamery would be burned as the Tans had done elsewhere. In the Ahamlish ambush the Cliffoney RIC casualties were: Sergent Perry and Constable Laffey and McKeon who were killed. Constables Lynch, Clarke and O'Rorke were wounded.
In reprisal the Black and Tans burned the houses and property of several people of the area, and took several people as prisoners.
The cemetery contains both Protestant and Catholic graves.
The church is no longer in use.
