The upstairs structure is mostly collapsed and large holes appear in the floor.

Door panels and window shutters lay fallen in the debris.

Well it seemed like a good idea to drop down into the basement to take a peek round..

Now I’ve never seen anything like this before! We’re looking at the remains of a piano

- it’s crashed down from one of the floors above and now lies in a pile in the basement.

There’s no way out from the basement here - the floor above has collapsed in all directions.

It takes me a good while to figure out how to make my way out of this spot.

(I make a mental note not to drop down into the basement so quickly next time!)

Fragments of wallpaper still cling to the walls.

The ceiling and floor are rotten and collapsing in places.

I pack up and head off back across the fields

- leaving Affane just as I found it.
